Modern Japanese Rice Pouch--Fabric Bundle
The Japanese used these traditional pouches to carry rice offerings to their temples during religious ceremonies, or as gifts for friends or relatives. This kit is a modern rendition of those pouches, suitable for using as a project bag or even a purse.
This is just the fabric only. Pattern is not included.
We have included fabric for the bag's exterior and interior, patches for over stitching, a drawstring cord, and sashiko thread for embellishing. The main interior/exterior fabrics are durable and beautiful fabrics such as: linen canvas, Essex linen, denim, painted canvas, vintage toile, chambray, and other wovens. The patches are special fabrics that may include hand-blocked prints, vintage Japanese fabrics, Liberty of London lawn, kantha quilt scraps, and other hard-to-find pieces. The drawstring cord is either cotton or leather, and the thread is cotton sashiko thread.
Each kit contains the materials as pictured in the photo. Subtle variations are inherent, but we've really tried to reproduce the materials closely so the photo can truly be your guide. Please note: for the mustard & gray variation, the cording is leather not mustard as shown.
Also, the photo of the finished bag is for sample purposes only; it is not one of the kits.
Dimensions: the finished bag is 6"x 6" x 6"
