Shipping & Receiving Associate

Reports to: Operations Manager

INTRODUCTION

The Shipping & Receiving Associate fulfills online orders, manages inventory, maintains inventory databases and compiles reports.

The right person has a strong sense of organization and is keenly attentive to details. They can learn and master various computer programs, and must manage the frequent shifts between working at a computer station and working on pick/pack/ship tasks.

Position is in-person in Buena Vista, Virginia. Hours are weekdays, 25-35 hours per week. In addition to hourly wages, the company offers paid time off, paid holidays, and contribution to 401(k).

Key Requirements

  • Excellent written and verbal communications
  • Tech savvy; able to learn and adapt to various computer programs for team communication, online commerce, order fulfillment, and inventory management, including Shopify, Shipstation, Clickup, Slack
  • Highly organized, with a positive can-do attitude towards challenges
  • Comfortable with change and is able to shift between a wide range of tasks
  • Values the opportunity to grow professionally with a fast-paced start up

Responsibilities

FULFILLMENT

  • Accurately process orders in a timely manner for shipment
  • Ensure the company branding is consistently presented in each order packed
  • Coordinate with shipping carriers to ensure seamless package drop-off and pick-ups

INVENTORY MANAGEMENT

  • Receive stock, and ensure accuracy and quality
  • Maintain orderly inventory space
  • Perform routine inventory counts and maintain accurate records in an inventory management system

CUSTOMER SERVICE

  • Work with other staff to answer inquiries and solve problems for customers

FACILITY MANAGEMENT

  • Maintain organization, cleanliness, and usability of the warehouse space

COLLABORATION 

  • Maintain frequent communication in person (and online) with other team members to provide data updates and answer inquiries
  • Work with your manager to create a personal development plan, then take responsibility for continually seeking to grow and develop yourself
