Sashiko Ornament Kit, Set of 5
It’s no secret that we love handmade Christmas ornaments, and ones with sashiko stitches . This charming Hitomezashi Sashiko Christmas design by Jane MacDonald tops them all.
Its sophisticated geometry is still sashiko and thus, simple to make. You’ll just stitch each element one at a time, building layers that become this gorgeous piece of decoration (in a nutshell, that’s what Hitomezashi is).
The kit includes:
- instructions
- dot grid sashiko fabric
- backing fabric
- sashiko thread
- sashiko needle
It makes 5 pieces, each approximately 3-½” x 3-½” (9cm x 9cm).
You will need a few things not in the kit -- stuffing and fabric glue. And a sashiko thimble is nice to have. Plus of course, your general hand-sewing supplies or sewing machine.
A QR code that takes you to a how-to video is also included.
