Handwoven in Japan using reclaimed kimono fabrics.

Old kimono cloth is washed, dyed, torn into narrow strips, and rewoven using traditional sakiori techniques—an approach similar to American rag-rug weaving, but on a much finer, more intricate scale.

This piece pairs richly-textured silk kimono fabrics with an irregular cotton slub warp. The combination creates a rustic, unrefined weave that highlights the character of each reclaimed fiber. The cloth has a naturally earthy hand; some small fibers may lift from the surface when worn.

Use it as a neck wrap, table runner, or textile accent—sakiori brings warmth to any space.

Care:
The fabric has been hand-washed twice—once at the time of weaving and once after finishing. Some color fading is possible. Please wash gently by hand (press wash without wringing; spinning in a washing machine is acceptable). Dry in the shade and iron from the back side.

Texture:
Slightly thick with a soft, pliable hand. Woven from cotton thread and silk, and not itchy.

Dimensions: Approximately 62" long (excluding tassels) × 8.75" wide (157 cm × 22 cm)

Materials:
Horizontal fabric: Silk kimono fabric
Warp: Cotton slub yarn (indigo + ink dyed)
