A beautiful little pair of scissors with a remarkable amount of craftsmanship behind them. Cohana's beloved Fine Scissors return in a limited-edition indigo blue, with lustrous lacquered handles, delicate gold maki-e accents, and a playful tassel finished with a shimmering brass charm. A crisp white leather sheath provides the perfect finishing touch.

These scissors bring together the talents of two Japanese workshops. Hasegawa Cutlery, established in 1933 in Seki City, Gifu Prefecture, crafts the slender stainless steel blades, finishing each one by hand for a wonderfully smooth, precise cut. In Nagoya, Ehara Lacquer Works applies the rich indigo lacquer and delicate gold decoration, drawing on techniques traditionally used to embellish Japanese ceremonial objects.

The fine, pointed blades are particularly well suited to snipping threads, trimming embroidery, and other detailed sewing and needlework. Their compact size makes them a lovely addition to a stitching pouch or sewing basket, while the lacquered handles feel smooth and comfortable in the hand.

And like many beautifully made tools, these scissors become even more personal with use. Natural lacquer develops its own character over time, gradually deepening in luster and subtly changing in tone. With a little care, they're a tool you'll enjoy reaching for again and again.

Care: Wipe clean with the included soft cloth after use and store in the leather sheath. Avoid cutting hard materials, exposing the scissors to moisture or direct sunlight, and using abrasive cleaners on the lacquered handles.

Please note: Natural lacquer varies subtly in color depending on the conditions in which it is applied and may develop a richer luster or change in tone over time. The blade tips may also have a slightly flattened finish from the careful hand-adjustment process. These are normal characteristics of the materials and craftsmanship, not defects.
