Vintage Japanese Cotton Kasuri -1/2 yd - Indigo/Olive

Add a touch of textile history to your work with this traditional Japanese kasuri fabric. Each piece is a vintage remnant of Japan’s rich weaving heritage—woven in narrow widths for kimono-making and dyed with indigo using time-honored methods.

This is a vintage indigo-dyed kasuri, a traditional Japanese ikat fabric in which portions of the warp and/or weft threads are left undyed before weaving, resulting in beautiful blurred-edge patterns in the finished cloth.

• 100% cotton

• Traditional kimono width: 13–14" (33–35.5 cm)
  

• Indigo dyed using traditional techniques

• Fabric is crisp and structured at first but softens with washing

• Sold in half yard cuts; multiple units will NOT be continuous

Care Instructions:
Due to the nature of indigo dye, kasuri fabrics may bleed.

• Hand wash separately in cool water

• Do not bleach

• Iron with a towel on top, while fabric is still damp, on a warm “cotton” setting

• Do not dry clean

• Expect 2–3% shrinkage

Note on Condition:
These vintage fabrics may show minor age-related characteristics like faint discoloration or small storage marks—typical for authentic Japanese textiles—but are in overall excellent condition.
