Where tradition meets texture—this rare 100% wool kasuri fabric is a stunning example of Japanese ikat weaving. In this meticulous technique, portions of the yarns are resist-dyed before weaving, allowing the blurred-edge patterns to emerge directly from the loom. The result is a fabric that feels as storied as it looks—each piece a quiet testament to craftsmanship.
Kasuri (絣) is the Japanese form of ikat, a labor-intensive process in which yarns are bound and dyed in advance, then woven to form softly feathered motifs. In this wool version, the technique brings a traditional depth and rhythm to the weave, but the bright colors make it feel modern.
This medium-weight wool has a soft, supple hand—ideal for visible mending and statement accessories. Deadstock and traditionally woven at kimono width, it offers a beautiful intersection of heritage and utility.
