Care Instructions for Vintage Japanese Silk

Because these are delicate vintage silks, some care is needed:

• Hand wash only – cool water, gentle soap (pH-neutral or baby shampoo)

• Do not wring or twist – gently squeeze water out and lay flat to dry

• Do not bleach or dry clean – dry cleaning solvents can damage older dyes and fibers

• Iron with care – use low heat, on the reverse side, with a press cloth

• Avoid prolonged soaking – natural dyes may bleed or fade

• Test a small area first – some silks, especially older ones, may react unpredictably to water
