Vintage Japanese Cotton -1/2 yd - Navy Stripe

A classic woven cotton with quiet strength and timeless utility.

This vintage cotton fabric features a crisp-yet-soft handfeel and a rich navy stripe pattern—likely once intended for durable garments like monpe (traditional Japanese work pants). Unlike kasuri, where patterns are created by weaving pre-resist-dyed threads in both directions, this striped design is achieved with yarn-dyed threads running in just one direction, making it more efficient to weave while still visually striking.

Ideal for visible mending, patchwork, quilting, or garment sewing, this fabric softens beautifully with time and wear.

• 100% vintage cotton

• Yarn-dyed woven stripe

• Traditional kimono width: 13"–14" (33–35.5 cm)

• Sold in half yard cuts; multiple units will NOT be continuous.

Care Instructions:

• Hand wash separately in cool water

• Do not bleach

• Iron on low to medium heat

• Do not dry clean

Note: Indigo and dark blue dyes may bleed. Pre-wash before use and avoid combining with lighter fabrics until bleeding stops.
