This poetic zip pouch is part of the collaboration between Japanese poet–illustrator moritaMiW and textile maker Kusubashi Monori. Together, they bring to life small creatures from MiW’s illustrated world—where even a weevil becomes a character full of wonder.
Made from woven cotton jacquard, the fabric has a soft, dimensional texture with an embroidered insect and a printed signature by the artist. The interior is lined in contrasting satin, and the pouch’s gently irregular shape adds to its whimsical appeal. Its balanced color palette—MiW’s signature blend of earthy blue, brown, and green—feels calm yet expressive, so you can carry a piece of gentle storytelling wherever you go.
This design features a small weevil wandering among leaves and flowers, paired with MiW’s playful poem “Flowers and Weevils.”
“Flowers and Weevils”
A tiny little elephant goes,
Walking on leaves.
Occasionally it would look up at the sky and neigh, then
walk again through the leaves swaying in the wind.
I’m sure he has no idea that he has
the same name as such a large animal.
