Inspired by Cape Kamui in early summer, the artist captures the vivid blues of the Shakotan Sea, rolling clouds, and a hillside filled with blooming Japanese roses and daylilies. Richly layered fibers recreate the movement of wind, water, and wildflowers in remarkable detail.

The artist creates each piece by washing, dyeing, tearing, and weaving vintage kimono fabrics into a finely detailed textile. Reclaimed silk, cotton, and wool are woven together to create a richly textured landscape with subtle variations that celebrate the character of the original materials. Because many different fibers are incorporated into the weaving, slight irregularities and soft fuzziness are a natural part of its handmade construction.
