Vintage Japanese Fabric Pack - Indigo

Vintage Japanese fabric cut from upcycled kimonos and futons, including solids, stripes, and kasuri designs. They are perfect for Japanese boro-inspired arts such as patchwork, visible mending, and the like.

All pieces are used, but clean and have their own character including: fading, creases and threads from hems, tiny holes from previous seams, and similar signs of wear. A couple are crisp from age, while most are supple. Fabrics may include cotton, linen, banana fiber, and hemp.

Most of the pieces are botanically dyed with indigo -- from pale blue to blackest blue. There may a a couple more modern pieces that use synthetic dyes.

Photos show a representative sample of all the fabrics, but the size of the pieces in the packs is smaller. Each pack contains 8-10 different pieces that vary in size from ~1” x 2” up to ~3” x 7”. Keep in mind these packs are made from reclaimed materials so the number of pieces, sizes, and even the patterns can vary. We’ll make sure the pack has an interesting variety, but we cannot guarantee it will always be exactly as shown here.
