Fine Scissors with Pink & Gold Lacquer - Sakura Limited Edition
Burnt sienna
A refined pair of scissors that brings together precision, tradition, and the fleeting beauty of spring
Finished in a soft sakura pink lacquer with gold detailing, these fine scissors are part of a limited seasonal release inspired by cherry blossom time in Japan. The color has a gentle warmth when new, and over time, the natural lacquer develops a deeper, more luminous tone—something you can watch evolve with use.
Made in Seki City, one of Japan’s historic centers of blade-making, each pair is carefully adjusted by hand to ensure a clean, accurate cut. The slim, pointed blades are especially well-suited for detailed work—snipping threads, trimming fabric, and handling the small, precise tasks that come up in sewing and handwork.
The finishing details are just as thoughtful: a soft leather sheath for protection, and a silk tassel with subtle gold shimmer that adds a sense of quiet ornament.

<About the color of Lacquered Handles>
The color of lacquered handles is duller and darker than it should be when the lacquer has been applied for only a short period of time. That's because the lacquer has a distinctive yellowish tone at first.
As time passes, environmental conditions such as ultraviolet rays, temperature, and humidity change the color of the lacquer to a brighter tone and becomes more colorful.
The time it takes for the color tone become brighter depends on the environment.

▼Edge sharpening in two-steps called "Koba-biki"
The blades are sharpened by adding a small edge by grinding the blade at two different angles, which ensures long-lasting sharpness and strength.
▼Blade Tip Adjustment (Slightly Flattened Tips)

▼A closer look of the tip when blades are closed.

The tips of the blades are carefully adjusted to ensure proper alignment.
Please note that the blade tips have a slightly flattened finish as a result of this adjustment.
