Banshu Style Slub Cotton Monpe Fabric – Madder & Safflower

$10.50 Sale Save

Soft, brushed, and full of character, this Japanese cotton fabric combines the relaxed texture of slub-woven tsumugi with a traditional monpe-inspired print. The warm madder and safflower-dyed background is scattered with small white kasuri-style motifs, creating a fabric that feels both timeless and distinctly Japanese.

This lightweight 4 oz cotton has a softly brushed hand that makes it a pleasure to sew and wear. It is well suited for garments such as shirts, blouses, dresses, and children's clothing, as well as quilting, bags, home décor, and patchwork. Woven in the Banshu style, the fabric reflects the textile traditions of Hyōgo Prefecture, a region celebrated for producing high-quality cotton fabrics.

This is unused deadstock from a commercial fabric roll, originally intended for the Japanese apparel industry and rarely available to home sewists.

Sold by the 1/2 yard. Add 1 unit for 1/2 yard, 2 units for 1 yard, 3 units for 1 1/2 yards, and so on. Multiple units will be cut as one continuous piece.
