One of France's great thread makers, Cartier-Bresson supplied beautifully spun cotton threads to generations of dressmakers, embroiderers, and needleworkers. These unused deadstock skeins were stored in their original boxes for decades and remain clean, bright, and ready to use.

Each skein contains approximately 45 meters (49 yards) of fine white cotton thread. The compact 4-inch (10 cm) skein and traditional tied presentation suggest it was intended for fine hand sewing, embroidery, heirloom sewing, lace making, monogramming, and other precision needlework. It is equally appealing to collectors who appreciate historic textile tools and packaging.

Founded in France during the 19th century, Cartier-Bresson became one of Europe's premier thread manufacturers, earning a reputation for exceptionally smooth, strong cotton thread. The company later became part of the DMC family, making these earlier skeins a wonderful example of French textile history.

These skeins are genuine deadstock—old but never used. The thread has remained protected in its original box and is in excellent vintage condition.
