Vintage Bingo Cotton Kasuri – Red & Aqua Floral
Stitch with true Japanese ikat—softly blurred blooms floating on deep indigo.
This vintage Bingo kasuri features scattered floral motifs in soft aqua and muted red across a dark indigo ground. The pattern is a classic hana-gasuri (floral kasuri), created through the traditional ikat method in which threads are resist-dyed before weaving so the motif emerges slightly feathered and alive.
Woven in kimono width and likely vintage deadstock, this cloth carries original tags and authenticity markings. The gentle irregularity in each motif is part of what makes kasuri so compelling—no two repeats feel mechanical or flat.
Sold in ½ yard increments. Add 1 unit for ½ yard, 2 for 1 yard, 3 for 1½ yards, and so on. Multiple units will be sent as one continuous piece whenever possible.
- Traditional kasuri (ikat) technique
- Indigo ground with red and aqua floral motifs
- Kimono-width fabric
- Vintage deadstock with original labeling
- Slight edge discoloration from light exposure on exposed bolt edge
Kasuri (絣) is made by binding sections of warp and/or weft threads before dyeing. When woven, those pre-dyed threads align to form softly edged patterns—a hallmark of authentic Japanese ikat.
