A pouch with a poem and a personality

This whimsical zip pouch is part of the collaboration between Japanese poet–illustrator moritaMiW and textile maker Kusubashi Monori. Together they’ve created a world where art and verse meet—where curious creatures come alive in richly textured fabric, and even a humble stink bug becomes a character worth knowing.

The pouch is made from woven cotton jacquard, featuring embroidered details and lined in a contrasting satin. Its slightly irregular shape feels organic in hand—so you can keep your bag organized with a touch of playful charm. The color pairing of front, back, and zipper is intentionally “MiW color”—unexpected yet harmonious.

On this design, a striped stink bug hides among warm orange flowers, echoing MiW’s accompanying poem, which reminds us that beauty and humor often share the same bloom.

Which self-defense method would you prefer?”
Apparently, when God asked him that, he chose something flashy.
“These stripes are a little embarrassing,”
the fashionable stink bug seemed to say this and shyly ducked into the flowers.
“Well, I guess it’s time to go home.
Shall we have this as a three o’clock snack?”
