Rare Custom Okayama Kurashiki Kojima Selvedge Denim 12 oz
An A-grade, authentic selvedge denim from Kojima, Kurashiki—woven in the heart of Japan’s denim capital.
Sold in ½-yard increments; multiple units will be sent as one continuous piece.
This rare indigo denim comes from Okayama Prefecture, long regarded as the center of Japan’s premium denim production. Woven in Kojima on vintage shuttle looms, it carries the dense structure and subtle texture that define true Japanese selvedge.
Both warp and weft are indigo, creating a deep, dimensional blue that will evolve beautifully with wear. At 12 oz, this is a classic midweight denim—substantial enough for jeans and structured garments, yet versatile enough for bags and everyday workwear.
Kojima is widely known as the “Denim Capital of Japan,” and its shuttle-loom fabrics are prized for their durability, character, and distinctive self-finished selvedge edge. The finished edge resists fraying and adds a clean, traditional detail to cuffs, seams, and exposed construction.
