Twilight Rooftops Kohare Furoshiki Wrapping Cloth - Gray & Pink 18"
A soft, evening hush settles over a quiet village.
Rendered in dusky grays and blush pinks, this furoshiki captures the peaceful geometry of rooftops at twilight. Whether used to wrap a small gift, line a bread basket, or carry a bento box, it adds an elegant touch to even the simplest daily rituals.
“Kohare” (小晴れ) means “a little sunny day” or “a small celebration.” These cloths are designed to bring that spirit of quiet joy into everyday moments—with color, texture, and intention.

Printing Details
This cloth is printed by Yamada Seni, a Japanese textile studio admired for its crisp, expressive designs and expert use of the Nassen reactive dyeing method. In Nassen printing, each color is applied through finely made screens, allowing the artwork to emerge with sharp detail, balanced color, and a natural feel across the surface of the cotton.
The process is meticulous: dyes are carefully mixed, screens are registered by hand, and the fabric is steamed so the pigments bond deep into the fibers. Because the color becomes part of the cloth—not a film on top—the result is soft, durable, and beautifully resistant to fading.
Yamada Seni’s approach combines technical precision with a playful, illustrated aesthetic. Motifs stay crisp even across folds and knots, and the colors maintain their clarity wash after wash. It’s a printing method that respects both the artwork and the function of the cloth—making it as pleasing to handle as it is to view.
