Scandi Bird Sashiko Kit

Stitch a modern Scandinavian-influenced avian motif with the traditional craft of sashiko.

This kit provides all required materials and instructions for completing a sashiko embroidered kitchen cloth.

This kit includes:

• Cotton fabric panel pre-printed with washable ink
• 100% cotton turquoise sashiko thread
• Sashiko needle
• Instructions that are written in Japanese*, but with many easy-to-understand diagrams walking you through every stitch

This design is comprised of many curves. While not difficult, it is a step above the skills required to do sashiko with straight lines. Use a shorter sashiko needle, and take just a couple stitches at a time to get nice, rounded lines.

Follow the printed guidelines on the fabric to learn the satisfying ancient Japanese stitching technique of sashiko. Once completed, the design washes away leaving behind beautiful stitchwork.
